In Wolmirstedt, the film studio "Filmwerk" under the direction of Maria Franke launched an exciting holiday project. The charm of the studio lies in its inconspicuous external appearance, but is hidden behind an oriental atmosphere. With seat cushions, colorful carpets and colorful towels, the interior offers an inspiring environment for creative minds.

From 7th to 10th July the workshop "Film from" takes place, which is aimed at children from 9 to 14 years. The aim of the workshop is to develop your own film and fully exploit the possibilities of the scenes and the surrounding area. During the course, the young talents are supported by Holger Glase, a Leipzig filmmaker. Teaching content is the distribution of roles, costume samples and playing scenes - all essential steps that flow into film production.

"In the end everyone is happy", Maria Franke describes the atmosphere in the studio. The children not only get to know the basics of film work and develop their own stories, but also receive acting training. In doing so, they take on different roles and thus actively shape the process of creating their film. This creative process promotes the team climate and the empathy ability of the participants - skills that are of great importance today and can also offer professional inspiration.

After the filming was completed, Maria Franke and her team see the film material and cuts the finished film, which is then sent to the schools involved days or weeks later. YouTube courses for creative minds

In addition to the practical workshop, a variety of online options offer to deal creatively with video production. A seminar on how youtube works explains the background of this widespread platform for children and young people. Topics such as the selection of videos, public and censorship are the focus of the discussion. Participants learn how YouTube generates their income and how to deal with their own content. Possible video types that are treated range from comedy to music to art.

Another interesting course that runs under the title "YouTube artist" is aimed especially at children and young people. Here the participants can document their memories and everyday stories and promote their artistic expression through video production. A conscious handling of emotions is practiced and the self -confidence of the participants is strengthened.

Both approaches show how important it is that children are not only consumers of media content, but also become active and express their opinions and ideas in the digital world. Whether in the film studio or online - in Wolmirstedt there are many opportunities for young filmmakers to go creative ways and to express themselves with great projects.
