Magdeburg in cycling fever: ADAC Cycling Tour starts in August!

Attention, cycling fans! On August 24, 2025, Magdeburg will be transformed into a true cycling stronghold. At the ADAC Cycling Tour, which takes place as part of the Lidl Deutschland Tour, not only well-known professionals but also more than 2,000 amateur cyclists will hit the streets. A special highlight is that both routes, the “Großer Börde Loop” with 122 kilometers and the flatter “Klein Börde Loop” with 52 kilometers, lead through the picturesque landscapes of Saxony-Anhalt and participants can enjoy on closed roads.

The start is on the Sternbrücke in the south of Magdeburg, while the last 32 kilometers of the tour take the same route as the professionals. The route takes cyclists directly to the magical Magdeburg Cathedral, where a cycling festival with a variety of attractions awaits participants on the Schleinufer. Anyone who decides to take part can take part from 89 euros and receive the official ADAC Cycling Tour jersey, which is supplied by the renowned Tour de France outfitter Santini. How HallLife informed, this event will be a real celebration for all cycling enthusiasts.

But the ADAC Cycling Tour is only part of the action on the cycling calendar. A look back at the Lidl Germany Tour 2024 shows impressive achievements. With a special sprint in Saarbrücken, where Mads Pedersen triumphed after 182.7 kilometers, he secured his second stage victory. The other three wins went to Jonathan Milan, who also took the green jersey.

The competition was fiercely competitive, and Jørgen Nordhagen from Visma | Lease a Bike, only 19 years old, impressed with his class and managed to reach seventh place in the overall ranking. Amanuel Ghebreigzabhier, who was named best helper and was even honored with a community jersey by the Instagram followers of the Deutschland Tour, also received special praise.
