Police investigate: From an accident escape to a cellar break-in in Zeitz!
In the last week there have been various incidents in the region that have concerned the police authorities. In Zeitz, on Sunday evening, just before 6 p.m., a cellar on Forststrasse was targeted by burglars. The victim immediately alerted the police. They found out that the perpetrators had forced their way into the compartment and stole a turquoise mountain bike. Officers filed a criminal complaint and conducted a search to investigate the incident. This report was made by the [Police Saxony-Anhalt](https://polizei.sachsen-anhalt.de/das-sind-wir/presse/pi-halle-saale/burgenlandkreis?tx_tsarssinclude_pi1%5Bactio n%5D=single&tx_tsarssinclude_pi1%5Bcontroller%5D=Base&tx_tsarssinclude_pi1%5Buid%5D=608019&cHash=84a7aa8ddcfec71c5c003ca760fda6e2) published.
In another matter that same evening, a parked car in Weißenfels OT Großkorbetha was targeted by a police patrol. During the check it turned out that the license plates attached to the Audi were advertised for unstamping and originally belonged to another vehicle. During a closer inspection, officers found a suspicious bag in the center console. The suspected narcotics were seized and investigations were initiated against the vehicle user.
Traffic accidents in the region
The road conditions were also not without problems on Monday morning. A wildlife accident on the K2253 between Thalwinkel and Tröbsdorf challenged a car driver who apparently got lucky in a collision with a crossing deer - the vehicle was damaged but remained drivable. Fortunately, the wild animal escaped unharmed.
In Hohenmölsen, a witness finally reported a traffic accident. A car had left the road on Schwarzer Weg and demolished two guide posts in Granschütz. The driver was unknown and had fled. However, an attentive witness stopped a 74-year-old driver in Aupitz because of his unsafe driving, only to discover that he was actually the person who caused the accident. He was apparently in poor health and was taken to hospital for a medical examination. An investigation was also initiated here.
Drunk driving in the Diepholz district
In the Diepholz district, the events also led to an abnormal course. An 18-year-old driver in Stuhr reported his car stolen after an accident early Sunday morning after he left the road and landed in a ditch. However, the police soon discovered discrepancies in his statement. Tests revealed that the young man was under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The public prosecutor ordered a blood sample and a police investigation was launched. This incident was reported on NDR.
This week's incidents show how important it is to act safely and responsibly in traffic and to protect your own premises. The police authorities are actively deployed to ensure security in the region. Statistics on crime rates in Europe show that the issues of burglary and road safety continue to be highly popular, as shown by data from Eurostat. Stay alert and safe!
