Sprayers and accidents: Chaos in Halle during the weekend!
Last night a sprayer caused a stir in the southern city of Halle (Saale). Loud [sachsen-anhalt.de](https://www.sachsen-anhalt.de/bs/pressemitigungen/polizei?tx_tsarssinclude_pi1%5Baction%5D=single &tx_tsarssinclude_pi1%5Bcontroller%5D=Base&tx_tsarssinclude_pi1%5Buid%5D=592276&cHash=7b42c3497f97c936b1435f3bd47a7d46) Shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday, a resident reported a young man carrying spray cans. When the police arrived, it turned out that it was a 19-year-old who had five spray cans, some of which had already been used. His hands were still stained with fresh spray paint. The graffiti he is accused of included at least four pieces of writing that were identified by witnesses. A breath alcohol test revealed a level of two per mille, which led to a report being filed.
The police were called upon again early Saturday morning around 2:10 a.m. when witnesses reported people spraying a house wall on Regensburger Strasse. Three people were arrested during the inspection. A 17-year-old had a spray can and other spraying accessories with her. In this case, too, the officers found several writings that obviously had a football connection. Here you could almost think that the football fever inspires not only the players themselves, but also the fans to creative acts.
Traffic accidents and other incidents
However, the weekend reports were not only characterized by graffiti and vandalism. On Friday around 1.30 p.m. there was a serious traffic accident on Heidestrasse between a car and a motorcyclist, who was seriously injured and had to be taken to hospital. In the afternoon, another accident occurred at Dessauer Platz, in which a truck collided with a car. Two people were slightly injured and the property damage is estimated at around 40,000 euros.
Another incident on Saturday night occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. when a driver left the scene of an accident after an accident. The 36-year-old, who was later caught by the police, also smelled of alcohol, which led to a blood sample being taken. In addition, a cyclist was injured after falling on Gottfried-Semper-Straße around 5:30 a.m.
Other security-related events
The police were also able to see various incidents that occurred in the region. On Friday evening in Merseburg, a 47-year-old was reported harassing neighbors, which resulted in several police operations. Eventually he had to be taken into preventive custody. A 29-year-old who fled on a motorcycle and subsequently tested positive for crystal meth was also checked by the emergency services.
In Zeitz, a 40-year-old cyclist was reported to have a blood alcohol content of over two thousand, which led to a charge of drunk driving. In Weißenfels, a speedometer was vandalized when unknown people sprayed it with silver paint. In Eisleben, around 500 square meters of a harvested field burned and the fire brigade had to be called into action. There was also a fire in a paper bin in Helfta, which caused two young people to escape.
The reports from Halle and the surrounding area show that the police are also required during the cold season. Vandalism, traffic accidents and other incidents shape the image of our city. It remains to be hoped that both the police and citizens have a good hand in improving the situation and that such incidents can be reduced in the future.
