In the first game of the DHB Cup 2025, Bergische HC won impressively against TSG Altenhagen-Heepen, with a clear 38:24. The game took place today in Bielefeld and offered the fans a handball festival at the beginning of the season, which was anything but one-sided in the first few minutes.
At halftime, Bergische HC went into the locker room with a lead of 19:14. Eloy Morante Maldonado, who started the new season impressively, scored three goals. The game was particularly challenging for Bielefeld as new signing Jonas Leppich was shown a red card for an unintentional hit in the face. Nevertheless, they showed fighting spirit and shortened the gap with three goals in a row. But the Bergische HC didn't let themselves be disturbed and were even able to extend their lead to five goals before half-time.
The course of the game
After the break, the Bergischer HC players turned up the heat and increased the gap to over ten goals. Bielefeld tried to make up the deficit with a seventh field player, but this was unsuccessful.
