Wolfgangstrasse will be renovated from July 14th - full closure on July 21!

Wolfgangstraße, 06846 Dessau-Roßlau, Deutschland - In Cologne there will soon be a comprehensive upgrading of Wolfgangstrasse. From July 14, 2025 to August 8, 2025, there are extensive repair work on the asphalt road. The measure affects the section between Antoinettenstrasse and Hans-Heinen-Straße. The reason for the renovation is the strong signs of wear that have arisen due to the high traffic in the area. According to Administration Dessau-Roßlau are implemented:

  • milling of the asphalt cover layer
  • regulation of larger bumps with a new asphalt
  • installation of a new asphalt cover layer
  • Renewal of crossing aids and on -board subsequences

In order to ensure optimal accessibility for residents and shops, such as Kaufland and the UCI cinema, the construction measure is divided into two sections. Kaufland can also be reached via the Unruhstrasse during the work - however, drivers should keep an eye on the passage height of 2.30 meters. Particularly important: On July 21, 2025, a day of full blocking of the Wolfgangstrasse is planned, on which the asphalt ceiling is installed. However, pedestrians and cyclists can continue to be guided past the construction site.

expanded measures for traffic safety

The renovation of the Wolfgangstraße in the Northend was originally scheduled for an earlier appointment, but was postponed by two weeks. The work now begins on Monday, October 18, 2025. This measure not only includes the renewal of the road, but also the entrances and curbs in sections 2 to 18 and 1 to 15. The residents are informed by the new appointment by throwing letters. The Wolfgangstraße is an important connection from the Nordend to the Westend, and the renovation is to improve traffic safety noticeably. The responsible office for road construction and development (ASE) will carry out the renovation. The section in question leads directly to the Oeder, which is supposed to promote a liquid traffic situation, such as Rhein-main-service reported.

long -term road maintenance

roots of maintaining streets are the need to meet modern requirements for traffic. In Germany, over 120,000 vehicles are on our roads every day. Therefore, continuous conservation measures and current technical regulations are essential in order to keep the infrastructure in good condition, such as the Federal Ministry of Transport . The condition of the streets and the need for maintenance measures must be constantly monitored in order to avoid consequential damage and unexpected costs.

The Wolfgangstraße is another example of the important use of conservation management, which not only includes large projects such as bridge renovations, but also smaller, targeted measures to improve road quality. The goal remains clear: security and accessibility for all road users.
