Carmen Engel has the Wurmberg - running for the Harz!

What a challenge! The passionate trail runner Carmen Engel, who lovingly works as an educator in the Einstein daycare center in Hordorf, has set itself a sporting goal that nobody can achieve so quickly. On June 21, 2025, on time at 4:00 a.m., Carmen am Wurmberg in Braunlage will fight for the vertical meter of Mount Everest, i.e. 8,848 meters. The special thing about it? She will cover this route in 24 hours and accompanied by her loyal dog, Scottie.

For each of the 22.7 laps that Carmen has to complete - each round measures 6.5 kilometers and brings 390 meters of altitude - private individuals, companies and brands can donate generously. The complete sum of the donations flows 100 percent into projects for reforestation and maintaining the habitat in the Harz. This is exactly where Carmen not only relies on her sporting skills, but also on the protection of nature. The lynx is particularly important to her, and she would like to give something back to nature, which in turn can be felt in her role as a trail running group leader of the German Alpine Club Section Braunschweig. Further details on this great project can be found on creams online and sfu.de .

fascination nature and sport

Carmen Engel is not only an outstanding athlete, but also a passionate activist for nature conservation. Your project will be organized by the German Alpine Association, and the support from the cable car operator, who quickly invited the entire daycare center for a trip to the Wurmberg, shows the broad interest in Carmens Mission. In good weather, the entire daycare center together with it will climb the vertical meters on June 21st and are committed to a good cause. If you want to support the challenge, you can do this with donations. The account information for donations are simple: Section Braunschweig of the German Alpine Club (DAV) e.V., DE19 2505 0000 5174 41, with the purpose: Everesting Wurmberg Carmen.

But there are not only Carmen who wants to work for our earth and their habitat. Supported in a broader movement of projects such as Miles for Trees , it becomes clear how important reforestation is for climate protection. The aim of the project is to plant a whopping 100,000 trees by the end of 2025 - an impressive number that can only be achieved through the cooperation between athletes, supporters and sponsors.

Carmen Engel is a shining example that commitment to the environment and sporting challenges can go hand in hand. Stay tuned and support this inspiring project! Who knows, maybe Carmen runs not only by meters of altitude, but also around the heart of many people who work for nature.
