Harz and Heide Fair returns to Braunschweig in 2026!
There’s reason to be happy in Braunschweig: The Harz and Heide Fair is returning! After a long break since 2008, the event will reopen from May 21st to 25th, 2026 and promises to be a real festival for the whole family. Organized by Berlin-based Expotec GmbH, managing director Frank Baumann sees the new opening as an opportunity to promote regionality and industry diversity. “Entrepreneurial instinct” is the driving force behind the reissue, says Baumann. The 2026 vintage will also have its characteristic touch, as the fair will only last five days, as opposed to the previous eleven days.
The concept for the trade fair is promising. Visitors can look forward to a wide range of offerings, ranging from sporting activities to health topics and culinary delights. A year-round stage program ensures the right atmosphere, while moderation and a raffle will liven up the event even more. The supporting program will also include a political talk and a job and training exchange. Particularly exciting: the opportunity to communicate with the municipality. Around 20,000 visitors are planned for the premiere, with an increasing trend in the coming years.
A look into the past
The fair has a long tradition that dates back to 2008. The return is eagerly awaited both in the region and beyond the city limits. Frank Baumann knows the subject, having been responsible for the “Tourism” department in 2007 and 2008, and brings a lot of experience to the organization. It will be interesting to see how the fair will develop in its new format and whether it will be able to attract the large audience planned for future events.
