Heinz Hütter: The 85-year-old classic car hero of the PS storage rally!
A lot has happened in the world of motorsport in the last few days, and one event in particular is attracting attention: the PS Storage Rally. This is known for being the largest motorsport event for historic vehicles in Germany. From July 4th to 6th there will be celebrations in Einbeck as part of the Einbeck Classic Car Days. The organizers are not only pleased about the large number of participants, but also about the opportunity to celebrate the 11th anniversary of PS.SPEICHER. People's voice reports that Heinz and Birgitt Rosemarie Hütter from Wernigerode are there again. They start with their BMW 2002, built in 1973, the youngest car in their trio.
Heinz Hütter, who is now 85 years old and regularly takes part in vintage car rallies, is true proof with his achievements in motorsport that age does not play a role when it comes to passion for historic vehicles. The co-founder of the “MC Wernigeröder Oldtimerfreunde” is taking part in this rally for the fourth time and has already gained impressive experience.
A colorful program
The Einbeck Classic Car Days offer a diverse program from Friday to Sunday. On Friday evening, the PS.Halle will be the scene of celebrations that begin with the presentation of a replica of the Amalfi CS 1800 breakdown car by Ronald Genßler. On Saturday, a highlight of the event, the vintage car rally starts with around 220 historic vehicles, which will cover an exciting route through the Holzminden district to the “Bilster Berg” race track. The transit times for the various stations will also be announced, which is already creating anticipation.
The rally vehicles then cross the finish line directly on Einbeck's market square, where spectators can see the cars and their drivers in all their glory. Accompanied by live presentation and musical entertainment, there will certainly not be a dry eye in the room. Another highlight is the vintage car parade on Sunday, in which vehicles built up to 2000 roll through the streets of Einbeck.
The fascination of classic cars
For many classic car fans, taking part in the PS storage rally is not just a competition, but an opportunity to meet like-minded people and share their passion for historic vehicles. For the Hütter couple, it is not only a sporting challenge, but also a nice opportunity to present their vehicles - the blue BMW 2002 and the sunny yellow Shiguli 1200, which has been in the family for 17 years. Three years ago they fulfilled another dream with the BMW, but repairing it proved to be a bit of a challenge as spare parts are difficult to obtain.
The rally is not about speed, but rather about using skill and knowledge to avoid penalty points and overcome the challenge. This shows that not only the vehicles but also the skills of the drivers are important in the horsepower storage rally. The professional event attracts many interested parties and in the past has caused the number of applicants to rise far beyond the available starting places.
For Heinz and Birgitt Rosemarie Hütter, the journey will begin on Friday morning, followed by a sociable evening with other motorcyclists. The PS.SPEICHER highlights and the region's first-class gastronomic diversity make this event an unforgettable experience. Further information and tickets are available online at PS.STORAGE available.
