MDR Harz Open Air 2026: Mega acts and family festival in Wernigerode!

A musical highlight is just around the corner: This MDR Harz Open Air will take place on September 5, 2026 in the Bürgerpark Wernigerode. After the success of the 2024 edition, the festival returns with a top-class line-up. The top acts include the popular bands The BossHoss, Marquess and Georgi Gogow – with their project “Der wilde Garten”.

What makes the festival so special? In addition to the big names on stage, the family program in the afternoon will also delight younger guests. Among other things, performances by regional music acts and a children's band are planned to open the festival. The stars of the evening

The BossHoss, who are on tour with their new album “Back To The Boots”, promise an energetic live experience. The band returns to their roots and will also perform classics like “Don’t Gimme That” and “Jolene.” Their performance will certainly be a highlight for all fans of rock and country.

Marquess is also likely to cause a stir, as the band is celebrating their 20th stage anniversary with their album “Energía”. Their mix of Latin pop and upbeat sounds has earned them widespread popularity in eleven European countries. Music lovers can look forward to summer rhythms and a good mood.

Georgi Gogow provides some variety with his project “The Wild Garden”. He combines violin, guitars and expressive voices that immerse listeners in a world of music. This extraordinary live experience is rounded off by the participation of Karolina Blasek and Kai-Uwe Scheffler.

Ticket prices and availability

The tickets are available now. Adults pay 32 euros in advance and 35 euros at the box office. Children aged 7 to 16 can take part for 16 euros (advance sales) or 19 euros (box office). MDR reports that the tickets are available via Reservix ticket offices and tourist information centers in Wernigerode and the surrounding area.

The event is organized by Wernigerode Tourismus GmbH in cooperation with MDR Saxony-Anhalt, the city of Wernigerode and Park und Garten GmbH. So if you want to do a good deal and experience an unforgettable celebration, you shouldn't miss out on the tickets.
