Wish car fulfills the dream of the castle hill: Felix experiences a special day!

In Bad Harzburg, a picturesque town in the Harz Mountains, a special couple had their heart's desire come true. Felix and Jutta, who moved to the region a year and a half ago, experienced an unforgettable day when they visited the Burgberg with the “Wünschewagen” Lower Saxony. Felix struggles with a severe lung disease that makes it difficult for him to sit or exert himself for long periods of time. His greatest wish was to enjoy the view from the 483 meter high elevation - and now he has done that.

The trip was organized by the volunteer wish fulfillers Christina and Sandra, who did everything they could to make Felix and his family's wish come true. Despite the dreary rainy weather that was forecast for the day, the two managed to keep Felix in a good mood. Equipped with a rain cape, the group, consisting of Felix, his wife, their daughter, a hospice companion and two friends, made their way to the cable car.

A day full of joy and memories

The trip up the mountain was a wonderful experience for Felix: the cable car ride was followed by a relaxed walk on the castle hill, where he could enjoy the breathtaking view. A subsequent refreshment in the lodging house ensured that everyone was well looked after before the group returned to the valley. The trip is considered a complete success and not only put a smile on Felix's face, but also his family's.

The Wish Car project, which made this journey possible for Felix and his family, pursues a remarkable goal: to fulfill the last wish of seriously ill people. The journey is made possible by a specially designed ambulance that is equipped with medical equipment and designed to create a pleasant atmosphere for the passengers and their companions. Funding comes exclusively from donations, sponsorships and the support of volunteers.

An initiative with heart

Volunteers from various areas, including health, nursing and emergency services, are committed to offering this special service. The goal is to keep the use of the wish car free of charge for all passengers, because no one should be excluded from fulfilling their last wish. The demand for these fulfillments is constantly increasing and numerous trips have already been carried out successfully, which shows how important this project is.

The idea behind the wish car is not only to fulfill last wishes, but also to change society's image of dying people. By supporting both hospices and palliative care units, the initiative not only provides emotional support, but also ensures that the last months and days of a life can be spent with dignity.

In order to continue carrying out such valuable projects, we are constantly looking for support in the form of donations and sponsorship. Every contribution helps to improve the equipment of the vehicles and to finance training for the volunteers who look after the passengers. Felix and Jutta's story powerfully shows how important this commitment is and reminds us that we all have the opportunity to make a difference.
