Large construction sites in Jerichower Land: B 1, B 81 and B 189 affected!

In the region around Magdeburg, extensive renovation work on several federal roads will begin on October 13th. These are expected to last until October 24th and will particularly affect the B 1, B 81 and B 189 in the Jerichower Land district and in the Börde district. As Meetingpoint JL reports, the work was deliberately scheduled during the holiday season so as not to affect school bus traffic.

Let's look at the details of the measures: There will be a complete closure on the section of the B 1 between Parchen and Genthin from October 13th to 17th. Motorists will be redirected via Hohenseeden, Schattberge, Gladau and the “Süße Ecke” roundabout. There is also a speed limit of 30 km/h in town thoroughfares.

Current traffic situation

On the B 81, the Schwaneberg junction in the direction of Magdeburg will also be completely closed from October 13th to 17th. Here the diversion takes place via the Altenweddingen junction (B246a). On the positive side, it should be noted that the flow of traffic on the B 81 remains largely unaffected.

It takes a little longer on the B 189. The work between the Magdeburg exit and the center of Barleben will run from October 13th to 24th. Unlike the other sections of the route, there are no full closures here, but traffic is restricted, which requires drivers to be particularly careful.

Shortening and forecasting offers

ADAC Maps a valuable support. With real-time traffic flow data and information about short-term disruptions, road users can better prepare for the coming weeks. The forecasts also make it possible to plan the best departure time and to be prepared against possible dangerous situations such as slippery snow or aquaplaning.

The current construction sites and traffic conditions can be viewed by drivers at any time. It is advisable to obtain the latest information on construction sites and traffic flows before setting off in order to plan your own route optimally and avoid unpleasant surprises.

In the next two weeks, many drivers in and around Magdeburg will have to be careful and reschedule! Although the rehabilitation work is a necessary measure for the safety and longevity of the roads, it can lead to delays. And as the saying goes? A good hand in choosing a route cannot prevent delays, but at least they can minimize them!
