News on the L 52: Huge construction site causes diversions in Burg!
It's time for change in Cologne! A 5.3 kilometer long stretch between Theeßen and Grabow is currently being renovated with a hefty budget of almost 1.5 million euros. Work will begin on July 3, 2025 and is expected to be completed by September 12. Loud Meetingpoint JL State Road 52 will be completely closed during construction, which will result in some diversions.
The renovation measures are extensive: The upper asphalt layers, both the binder and the surface layer, are milled down to a depth of around 12 centimeters and rebuilt. This not only improves the quality of the road, but also ensures safety for all road users. This work is part of a larger initiative to bring the infrastructure in Saxony-Anhalt into shape.
Detour and impact on traffic
There is a clear route for the diversion: It leads via Drewitz (L 52), Lübars, Loburg (L 55) to Möckern (B 246), on to Stegelitz (B 246a), back to the L 52. This diversion could be a bit of a challenge for some drivers, as there may be a temporary increase in traffic on these roads.
The residents in particular hope that the creation of construction phases will ensure accessibility to their properties. Trash collection and emergency services will also continue to have access, facilitating the practical side of the site.
Complete closure in Niegripp
The diversion leads via Niegripper Chaussee to federal highway 1 and further via Körbelitz. This regulation applies until October, which requires further patience from road users. In addition, not all information about the closures found its way to residents, which has led to misunderstandings in the past.
A double challenge
Given all this construction work, it is clear that the traffic situation in the region has already changed and will continue to change. Drivers should keep their eyes open and prepare accordingly. The renovations are necessary to make the roads fit for the future, even if they currently involve a certain amount of effort.
It should not be forgotten that projects like those in Cologne and Niegripp often take several months to be optimally implemented. as it appears on the pages of Roads NRW sounds, they are broken down into different categories to ensure the best course of action for everyone concerned. From daily construction sites to complete closures – each measure has its own relevance and necessity.
So be warned and plan your trips accordingly! It remains to be hoped that the work will be completed within the scheduled time frame so that everything will run smoothly again soon.
