In the heart of Saxony-Anhalt lies a true treasure trove of unique accommodations - this is shown by the recent “Guest Favorite 2024” award, which was presented as part of the Magdeburg Tourist Lounge on the MS Sachsen-Anhalt. The Saxony-Anhalt Tourism Association (LTV) not only honored the best hotels and holiday apartments, but also honored particularly committed entrepreneurs from the Jerichow region. This shows that quality and service orientation get around.
The big winner in the guesthouse/guesthouse category is the “Pension Elisabeth” in Prödel, which was able to secure the title for the second time. But this wasn't the only place where the joy was great: “Your Favorite Place” was once again honored in the holiday apartment category. The Hotel & Restaurant Stadt Genthin can also celebrate its first win in the hotel category.
Award winners in the region
In the city of Magdeburg, the Hotel am Ring stands out, being named the best hotel for the third time in a row. The City-Pension Magdeburg won twice in the guesthouse/guesthouse category. And don't forget the holiday apartment Breiter Weg 226, which also won in its category for the second time. These award winners are the result of a careful selection by LTV, which has been presenting the award since 2020.
The evaluation methodology behind these awards is particularly interesting. The evaluation is carried out via the guest feedback platform TrustYou, which brings together 250 rating portals. To qualify, businesses must collect at least 70 online reviews - for holiday apartments the minimum number is 50, which promotes the accessibility of the award. The overall rating is made up of various factors: 30% online reviews, 50% the service rating and 20% the response rate of the establishments to guest reviews.
Nature experiences in Saxony-Anhalt
But it's not just the excellent accommodations that stand out. Saxony-Anhalt also impresses with its breathtaking natural landscape. Whether on foot, by bike, on horseback or from the water - there are countless ways to discover the most beautiful sides of the region. The different natural areas are waiting to be explored: from two biosphere reserves to a national park to six nature parks. Everyone will find something to suit their taste here.
Particularly noteworthy are the renatured areas, such as those on the Goitzsche, which have turned former opencast mining areas into beautiful lake landscapes. These new local recreation areas are available for numerous activities and offer space for relaxation and adventure in nature.
