An exciting weekend is coming up in Saxony-Anhalt: On September 20th and 21st, 2025, the “Open Ateliers” invite art lovers to take a look into the creative world of over 120 artists. This popular event takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is now in its xxth year. Just. In the studios, which are spread across rural regions right up to large cities, numerous works of art are offered for sale and a wide range of insights into the various work processes are provided. Particularly noteworthy is the new contact point in Lutherstadt Eisleben, where the 285-year-old blacksmith shop in the ceramic cellar opens its doors.
As with previous events, the focus will be on Halle, a place known not only for its artistic talent, but also for the Burg Giebichenstein Art School, which plays a central role in the cultural landscape. The participation of 25 artists, who are back after a long break, provides an additional breath of fresh air and new perspectives. This year's event provides an excellent showcase for the region's creative talent.
A celebration of art
Over the years, the event has developed into a popular meeting place for artists and art fans. The Professional Association of Visual Artists Saxony-Anhalt (BBK Sachsen-Anhalt) organizes the event, which has been taking place since 1996. As in recent years, many artists will provide exciting insights into their studios. Not only are these opportunities open to the public, but they are also a perfect platform for artists to showcase their work.
On this occasion, visitors can experience the creative process up close, learn about various techniques and exchange ideas with the artists. The program includes not only exhibitions, but also exchanges about techniques and materials, poetry, music and even culinary delights that round off the experience.
