A significant step for the logistics industry in Saxony-Anhalt: From December 1, 2023, employees can look forward to higher wages. The central innovations were agreed in a collective agreement between the Verdi union and the employers' associations after lengthy negotiations. These increases totaling 10 percent until June 2027 should not only provide more financial relief, but also serve as an incentive to retain skilled workers in the industry.
As early as December, wages will rise by 3.7 percent. A further increase of 3.4 percent will then follow in September 2024, followed by a final adjustment of 2.1 percent in June 2027. In addition, the annual special payments, such as the Christmas bonus, will each be increased by 100 euros in 2026 and 2027. MDR reports that the logistics industry includes not only transport and warehousing services, but also the activities of drivers, warehouse staff and merchants. According to estimates, around 80,000 employees in Saxony-Anhalt work in this area, which is considered particularly important for the economy.

The employers' association LVSA is satisfied with the result achieved.
