In Cologne, the anticipation of Advent is palpable. On November 25th and 26th, 2025, the University Medical Center Magdeburg (UMMD) invites you to a festive Advent market behind House 1. The event, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., serves as a thank you to the employees for their tireless commitment over the past few months. This is an atmospheric get-together in a Christmas atmosphere.
When strolling through the market, visitors can expect numerous culinary delicacies. From tasty kale pans and grilled specialties to vegetarian potato soup and tempting waffles and crepes – there is something for every palate. The grilled cheese, pan-fried vegetables and baked apples as well as a selection of Christmas drinks are also a must. So it's set up for a real feast for the senses.
Special attractions
But not only the palate, but also the ears are not neglected. A Christmas wind ensemble will be on stage on both days, providing festive sounds with performances at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. There are also various market stands, such as the one from “V1 Marketing, Communication and Media”, where visitors can purchase a limited-edition Christmas ball, as well as a stand from the Clinical Ethics Committee, which offers creative crafts. The Medical Student Council and the Malteser are also looking forward to welcoming numerous interested parties.
Another highlight will be the appearance of the KITA clinic dwarves on November 25th. The Magdeburger Krebsliga e. V. will be represented on this day. And little book lovers can look forward to a book flea market on November 26th from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., which is a true paradise for bookworms.
Who is the market for?
Not everyone can just come to the Advent market. Entry is intended for UMMD employees with an employee ID card, employees of the clinics in Cracau and Lostau with a special ID card, students on the medical campus as well as trainees and schoolchildren. Employees of the service companies, volunteer hospital helpers, pastors and MVZ employees who provide relevant proof are also cordially invited.
