Current construction sites in Magdeburg: traffic information for June!

In Cologne, the current construction situation is causing some traffic changes that will not be missed by many drivers and road users. The Sudenburger Wuhne between Fichtestrasse and Otto-Richter-Strasse is now passable again, and the full closure in the Alexander-Puschkin-Strasse intersection area was also lifted early. But while there is relaxation in such places, there are also new challenges.

Urgently needed road construction work will begin on Friedrich-Ebert-Straße from June 30th. These will be carried out in two phases: First, the eastern direction of travel will be closed from June 30th to July 4th, followed by a closure of the western direction of travel from July 7th to 11th. Diversion routes will be signposted via Cracauer Straße so that passers-by and drivers can plan for the changes in good time.

News in the traffic situation

At the same time, Galileostrasse will also be closed in the north between Lunochodstrasse and Otto-Baer-Strasse from June 30th until December 19th. This long time window indicates that there is extensive work to be done here that is aimed at sustainably improving the transport infrastructure, as can already be seen from the PTV Group.

Another example of the current traffic restrictions is Große Diesdorfer Straße, which cannot be freely accessed in both directions between Beisstraße and Walbecker Straße from June 30th to August 8th due to pipeline work. There are also restrictions on the Magdeburger Ring, as daily road damage repairs there from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. until July 4th affect the lanes leading into the city near Ziolokowskistrasse and Neuer Sülzweg.

Traffic forecasts and information

ADAC Maps Disruptions and traffic flow on highways and in cities can be kept in view. This data is particularly important to respond to the construction sites and changing traffic conditions triggered by the above works.

The more we look into the future, the more crucial a well-developed transport infrastructure becomes. Not only does it help avoid traffic jams, but it also improves the quality of life in our cities. The consistent analysis of traffic data, as provided by the PTV Group, is an essential step in this direction. In particular, the need to adapt our infrastructure to demographic and economic changes will only increase in the coming years.

The changes in Cologne's traffic situation require citizens to pay increased attention. The planning and maintenance of the infrastructure, as reflected in the current projects, ensures in the long term that Cologne remains a home worth living in.
