Things will really come alive in Magdeburg in September 2025! A colorful program awaits all culture and music lovers who visit the capital of Saxony-Anhalt. The free event takes place from September 5th to 7th Kulturbrücke Festival takes place, and the Rothehorn city park becomes the venue for rousing sounds. With a mixture of brass, funk, punk and jazz, the trio Brass Riot brings a breath of fresh air, while the indie band Bruchbude and the synth-pop band Tropikel Ltd. will enrich the festival in their own unique way. A very special highlight is the performance of Power Plush, which will provide the best entertainment on September 7th at 5:15 p.m.
On September 10th it’s “Welcome to Antoní’s open-air concert” in the Moritzhof. The young artist, who attracted attention with his debut album “Holding Tight Lightly”, will load at 8:30 p.m. and open the entrances to indie folk sounds. Fans of this genre can look forward to an unforgettable concert!
A celebration of culture
Another highlight is the Magdeburg Culture Night on September 20th. Under the motto “Be more awake and dream deeper” the Klosterbergegarten will be transformed into a cultural paradise from 6:00 p.m. to midnight. The reason for this is the 200th anniversary of this magical garden. The event will be ceremoniously opened by Mayor Simone Borris and city clerk Marcus Hammerschmitt.
The program is extensive: over 37 cultural locations in the Buckau district and the surrounding area offer a diverse cultural program from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Readings, concerts and performances invite you to discover the creativity and diversity of the city. Edith Allan Poe will be presented by Eva Medusa Gühne in the Gruson greenhouses, while indie pop by Stina Holmquist will be heard in the Volkspark. The highlight of the culture night is the final LED show by Entourage Berlin in the Klosterbergegarten, followed by a jazz lounge in the Gesellschaftshaus.

However, Magdeburg has much more to offer: from theater performances Theater Magdeburg to impressive exhibitions in the art museum and opera house – there is something for every taste. Whether at the traditional Kaiser Otto Festival or the Elbriot Festival, music lovers will find plenty of opportunities to have fun here. And don't forget: the football games of 1. FC Magdeburg in the MDCC Arena cast a spell on sports fans!
Tickets for the culture night have been available since August 25th, with full-paying tickets paying 15 euros and reduced tickets paying 10 euros. Advance sales are ongoing throughout Germany at well-known advance booking offices and also online. This event is definitely not to be missed!
