SC Magdeburg celebrates new silver partnership with Pergande Group!
The handball world is in full swing and the mood in Magdeburg is currently boiling over! SC Magdeburg has landed a new silver partner: the Pergande Group. This collaboration should not only bring a breath of fresh air to the DAIKIN Handball Bundesliga, but also strengthen the identity of both partners, says Marc-Henrik Schmedt, Managing Director of Handball Magdeburg GmbH. The Pergande Group, a leading service provider in the chemical and process industry, has been committed to sport in Magdeburg for many years.
From the upcoming home game against the Rhein-Neckar-Löwen, the Pergande Group will show its presence on LED boards in the GETEC Arena. The company specializes in the development and optimization of process engineering processes and wants to increase its national visibility with this partnership. With around 250 employees and the production of high-quality products on modern facilities, the Pergande Group underlines its role as an important player in Saxony-Anhalt.
A club rich in tradition
SC Magdeburg, a professional handball club, has established itself as a fixture not only in Germany but also internationally. The club, founded in July 1955, has won the EHF Champions League five times, most recently in 2025. It has also won the EHF European League and the IHF Men's Super Globe in recent years, which proves its strength and continuity in the sport of handball.
Over the last four decades, SC Magdeburg has undergone an impressive development, from the numerous national championships in the GDR to the successes in today's Bundesliga. The breakthrough to the top of German handball was particularly successful in the 90s, when top players like Stefan Kretzschmar were signed.
The rivalry with ESV Lok Südost Magdeburg remains an integral part of the club's history. It is a competition for supremacy in East German handball that is still alive today. The home of SC Magdeburg, the GETEC Arena, offers the perfect backdrop for the exciting duels in the league and at international level.
Looking to the future
With the Pergande Group at their side, SC Magdeburg could continue to excel not only in the Bundesliga, but also on the European stage. The club is already looking forward to a promising future as it regularly takes part in international competitions and can support its youth departments. SC Magdeburg recently decided to strengthen its young talents in the B-Junior Bundesliga, where it was the first club to win the German championship in the 2024/25 season.
A look at the upcoming challenges and opportunities that this partnership will open up for SC Magdeburg creates high excitement among the fans. They will soon see how this new alliance will affect the team's performance.
