Chase in Magdeburg: drunken drive ends in a gravel parking lot!
A turbulent chase took place in and around Magdeburg, which caused a lot of excitement on Saturday evening. A 33-year-old driver was on the run from the police after evading a checkpoint. The police noticed her car due to excessive speed on Olvenstedter Graseweg. Instead of stopping, the woman accelerated and found herself in immediate danger several times as she headed directly toward the patrol cars, like MDR reported.
The wild chase led over dirt roads and several highways before the police were finally able to stop the woman's escape in a gravel parking lot in Alt-Olvenstedt. During the check it turned out that the driver was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. She was immediately taken to a hospital where a blood sample was taken.
Passengers with problems
But that wasn't all: When the three male passengers were checked, one of them turned out to be particularly problematic. The 44-year-old identified himself with stolen identification documents. An identity check then revealed that there was an arrest warrant against him. Unable to pay the required fine, he was taken straight to prison. The police not only seized drugs, but also fake IDs. As a result, several investigations were initiated, including because of the danger to road traffic. Luckily there were no injuries.
In a similar situation at night, a 22-year-old Polish woman was targeted by the police because she was also driving too fast. She managed to escape via the A2 and A14 motorways, but was eventually arrested. During this arrest it was discovered that she also had drugs and alcohol in her blood. Her three male companions were also involved in the arrest, with another passenger identifying himself with stolen identification documents and also facing an arrest warrant Radio SAW reported.
