E-bike robbery in Eisleben: The police investigate after a Keller slump!

Mansfeld-Südharz, Deutschland - An e-bike was stolen last week during the break-in in a basement in Johann-Agricola-Straße in Eisleben. The incident was found on Tuesday afternoon, June 18, 2025, and quickly aroused the attention of police and residents. This type of theft is not an isolated case, as other similar cases show, for example in Rheinstraße in Kandel, where strangers also collapsed between 27 and 28 March 28th and stole an e-bike. The injured party was on vacation at this time, which made the investigation more difficult, as Wochenblatt Reporter reports.

accidents on the roadside

Not only in cellars - the events were also not without consequences in road traffic. On Tuesday there was a traffic incident in Hettstedt when a driver damaged another car while parking. Just a day later, in Gerbstedt, a driver collided with a parked car. Happiness in misfortune: Both drivers remained intact, but considerable property damage to the vehicles occurred.

In Eisleben, the awkward maneuvering in the underground car park was visible again when a driver damaged a parked car on the market square when driving out of a parking space. Overall, the property damage added up to around 1,000 euros that day, which shows once again how often such traffic accidents happen.

fire alarm system and property damage

Another incident that made headlines in the city on Tuesday was the damage to a fire alarm system in the hospital. A 70-year-old woman broke a disc of the system in the emergency room, which not only led to the use of the fire's fire brigade, but also to initiate an advertisement against her. The incident illustrates how quickly a misunderstanding or an impulsive moment can transform into a serious situation.

The numbers speak for themselves

according to Destatis the number of pedelec accidents continuously increases. In 2023, over 23,600 pedelec users were injured, almost eleven times as many as in 2014. The increasing figures are cause for concern, especially because the average age of the accident is 53 years and the likelihood of serious injuries in the event of falls increases.

In view of these developments, it is advisable to secure both pedelecs and conventional bicycles well and drive defensively. It is recommended to make basement rooms "opaque" to make thefts more difficult, because caution is required in view of the increasing number of theft.
