Eisleber Wiesenmarkt 2025: Spectacular folk festival expects 500,000 guests!

The anticipation for the largest folk festival in Central Germany is increasing! From September 19th to 22nd, 2025, the Lutherstadt Eisleben will once again be the venue for the traditional Eisleber Wiesenmarkt, which has been celebrated since 1521. Around 500,000 visitors are expected, who can look forward to a diverse program with 300 showmen, dealers and restaurants. The event has developed over the years from a cattle and oxen market into a true feast for the senses.

The Wiesenmarkt begins with a historic opening spectacle on Friday, September 19th at 1:30 p.m., followed by a parade at 2 p.m. To celebrate the occasion, the traditional beer barrel will also be tapped at 3 p.m. The band “Atemlos”, which performs on Friday evening, provides live music and a good atmosphere. On Saturday, in addition to the shooting parade, the live band “Four Rock” will also be waiting for the celebrants, while on Sunday a meadow service and an 80s themed party are on the agenda. The crowning finale comes in the form of a fireworks display on Monday evening.

Arrival and parking options

Visitors have various options for traveling to the event. Traveling by public transport is particularly recommended, as train connections run every 30 minutes from Halle and Sangerhausen. There will also be additional trains on Friday and Saturday evenings. Train ticket holders can benefit from free buses that travel directly from the train station to the festival site.

If you want to travel by car, there are plenty of parking options at Wiesenmarkt, although the cost is 5 euros per car. Alternatively, there are “Park & Ride” offers in the Hallesche Straße commercial area, where parking only costs 2 euros. Children up to 12 years even park for free. At the same time, various streets will be closed during the festival, including Lindenallee and K.-Fischer-Straße.

The program in detail

The supporting program offers a variety of attractions for visitors. A total of around 50 rides, including some new ones, will be on the fairground. But that's not all: the organizers announced a banquet in the festival tent, where numerous artists will perform. On Sunday there will be a meadow bird shooting for the 25th time, and the shooting clubs will determine a new meadow shooting king or queen on Saturday.

The Eisleber Wiese is not only a place for rides and games, but also a beautiful folk festival that offers an unforgettable experience for the whole family with its colorful lights and festive decorations. Events like this are sprouting up all over Germany, in the tradition of folk festivals that are often organized by groundskeepers. The Wiesenmarkt in Eisleben is no ordinary festival, but a cultural highlight that radiates far beyond the city's borders.
