Telenot doctor: Faster help for Saxony-Anhalt in the emergency services!

Telenot doctor: Faster help for Saxony-Anhalt in the emergency services!

In the past nine months, the telenotarz system has developed into a real enrichment in the German emergency services. Interior Minister Tamara Zieschang reports on positive experiences and reports that in the districts of Mansfeld-Südharz, Saalekreis and the city of Halle (Saale), an audio-visual support was provided. With the aim of enabling quick help and optimizing personnel resources in the emergency services, Zieschang emphasizes the need to permanently anchor the telenotarz system in the emergency services law. This would not only benefit efficiency, but also the overall patient care.

Hartmut Handschak, District Administrator of the Saalekreis, stands behind this initiative and emphasizes how valuable telenotians are especially for emergency paramedics and emergency doctors. In the first few months there were only 1.5 percent of the cases with network availability, which means that communication was smooth in most situations. Instead, the rescue workers were able to fall back on the phone to receive the required support. The telenotarz system helps to make contact with decision-making, findings, transportation of transport or dosage aids effectively and quickly.

core targets and successes of the project

The pilot project, which took its first steps in October 2024, covers both urban and rural areas and is created for two years. According to Hartmut Stefani, the spokesman for the telenotarz project, over 98 percent of the attempts to reach the telenot doctor have worked. The system has even refuted prejudices against telenotfall medicine in remote regions and shows that emergency services can be well supported in rural areas.

It should be emphasized that telenotologists not only help the paramedics with decision -making, but can also speak directly to the patients. Vital data such as blood pressure and heart rate can be viewed for telenotians, which enables them to assess the condition of the patients precisely and, if necessary, to initiate procedures. This is particularly important if urgent measures such as hospital instruction are required.

digitization as the key to increasing efficiency

Emergency medicine is a central element of healthcare and state general services. In view of the over 13.4 million emergency services, which were recorded in 2023 for statutory health insurers, it is essential to optimize medical care. Digitization offers great opportunities here. The speed and efficiency of the supply could increase through modern information technologies. Especially when it comes to initiating actions within 60 minutes of critical situations such as heart attacks and strokes.

It must be mentioned that digitization not only requires technical solutions, but also has to strengthen trust in these new systems. Artificial intelligence has the potential to revolutionize emergency medicine through automated emergency recognition and decision support in control centers. Projects such as those from Fraunhofer IES to present real -time representation of hospital capacities already show positive approaches.

Overall, the telenotarz system shows that innovative solutions can significantly improve medical emergency care, both in urban and rural areas. It is to be hoped that the positive development will continue to exist in the future and that a permanent institution will be in the German emergency services.
