Minimum wage increase: Millions benefit in Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia!
Today, August 15, 2025, there is good news about the minimum wage in Germany. The upcoming increase will bring a breath of fresh air to the payrolls of many employees. According to that MDR Around one in five employed women and one in seven men benefit from the recently decided wage increases. Those who work in part-time jobs are particularly affected: 59 percent of mini-jobbers and 16 percent of part-time workers will benefit from the increase in the minimum wage, which will, among other things, be raised to 13.90 euros per hour.
If you look at the different sectors, the picture becomes even clearer: In the hospitality industry, the higher minimum wage is likely to reach around 56 percent of employees, while in public administration or education only a minimal impact is expected. In the area of “Public Administration, Defense and Social Security”, for example, it is only two percent.
