Hallesche Verkehrs-AG is looking for a new passenger advisory board – apply now!

The Hallesche Verkehrs-AG (HAVAG) is campaigning hard and is looking for a new member for the voluntary passenger advisory board from the Saale district. The Passenger Advisory Board is an important body that gives citizens the opportunity to actively participate in local public transport in Halle and the Saale district. As the Hallanzeiger reports, interested parties are invited to apply with a motivational cover letter by July 31, 2025 at the latest.

To become active on the passenger advisory board, you should live in the Saale district and have a real interest in local public transport. The commitment includes attending four regular meetings per year and representing passenger interests. The members work on suggestions for improvement and friends also discuss ideas and suggestions with those responsible at HAVAG. Enjoyment of exchange and a creative mind are required.

The listening consultation hours

A good opportunity to find out more about the work of the Passenger Advisory Board is the next consultation hour on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Here passengers have the opportunity to speak directly to the members of the passenger advisory board. These open discussions take place in the escalator service center and are intended to improve local transport services and share passengers' concerns. As dubisthalle reports, it is also about supporting important decisions on topics such as new purchases and construction work.

The passenger advisory board currently has 18 members from a wide range of passenger groups, chaired by Hans-Joachim Berkes and his deputy Thomas Faust. Both were elected at the beginning of 2014 and bring a lot of experience to the committee work.

Commitment to public transport

The idea behind a passenger advisory board is to listen to the needs of passengers. Other federal states have also established such committees in order to increase the acceptance and attractiveness of local public transport (ÖPNV). For example, the passenger-related advisory boards in Baden-Württemberg are important in order to continuously receive information about changes in local rail passenger transport and to pass on suggestions to the responsible authorities. The Zukunftsnetzwerk ÖPNV shows that these committees are an important part of the mobility culture.

For all those who are interested in getting involved and actively shaping public transport, this is an opportunity - so don't hesitate and write your motivational letter quickly!
