There are currently exciting developments in the rescue service in the south of Saxony-Anhalt. The teleemergency doctor project, which has been successfully tested since October 2025, enjoys broad approval. Interior Minister Tamara Zieschang (CDU) now wants to propose to the state parliament that the project be rolled out nationwide. This shows that modern solutions are on the rise in emergency medicine. Positive experiences and challenges

Acceptance among rescue workers is high, which further supports the effectiveness of the system. At the same time, the Ministry of the Interior in Magdeburg is waiting for the first results before making a decision on the final nationwide introduction. A second project in the north of the country is also being considered.

Emergency medicine in the digital age

The topic of digitalization in emergency medicine is becoming increasingly important. Modern IT systems can make processes faster, more efficient and safer. For example, digital technologies such as video emergency calls could enable faster alerting and thus a significant improvement in emergency medicine.

The course for the future has been set, and it remains to be seen how digitalization in emergency medicine will develop. However, the first steps in Saxony-Anhalt are already promising!
