In the last few days there was an extensive police operation in the region around Salzwedel and Magdeburg, which was based on suspicion of illicit drug trafficking. On November 4, 2025, the Central Criminal Investigation Department of the Stendal police station, supported by the state riot police, searched a total of eight residential properties and outbuildings of five suspects between the ages of 35 and 48. Loud Saxony-Anhalt Significant quantities of narcotics were seized.
The measures are in connection with an investigation into suspected illicit trafficking in narcotics in large quantities. The police found marijuana in the low four-digit gram range and cocaine in the low three-digit gram range. Of the accused, four out of five people were questioned by the police and some of them were processed for identification purposes.
Preliminary arrest and legal consequences
A 40-year-old man was temporarily arrested and taken to the central police custody in Magdeburg. However, the Stendal public prosecutor's office did not file an application for arrest due to a lack of grounds for his arrest, and the man was released from custody. Nevertheless, he is expected to be brought before the judge on Wednesday.
