Rappin shines in a new light: safety for children and villagers!

A lot has happened in the last few years in a small village called Rappin, which is part of the town of Klötze. Three years ago, Jens Nehring and the mayor Alexander Krieger turned to the city of Klötze with a major concern: the old street lighting, some of which was over 50 years old and often failed, urgently needed to be replaced. In the evening it was pitch black in Rappin, and the children in particular had a hard time getting to their school bus safely because they had to carry flashlights. The situation was also compounded by reports of sightings of wolves in the area, which only increased villagers' fears, as they said MDR reported.

Jens Nehring took matters into his own hands. He organized sponsors and spoke to local craft businesses. He invested several thousand euros out of his own pocket. Thanks to his commitment and the support of his neighbors and friends, seven new street lights have already been installed and three more are to follow. The new lights make the villagers, especially the children, feel much safer.

Joint commitment to the village community

The mayor Alexander Kleine praised the great commitment of the village community and announced that he wanted to donate a Christmas tree. Last weekend, a power cable for the Christmas tree was laid, with around ten villagers helping out. Bearing burdens together - this is also evident in other projects: In the last few months, welcome signs have been put up, benches and tables have been built, the bus stop has been illuminated and a 300 meter long dirt road has been paved. The playground also shines in new splendor because the villagers designed it themselves.

In order to regularly maintain the village square and the town entrances, Jens Nehring bought a mower for his tractor. Further plans are in the pipeline for the future, including lighting the dirt road leading to the school and upgrading the playground. The city of Klötze has announced that it will support the project in the future, showing how important citizens' commitment to their living space is.

The role of technology and aids

Just as a little light is blooming in Rappin, there are also exciting developments in the world of technology. Let's take the small FPV drones known as Cinewhoops. These are ideal not only for professional video production, but also for hobbyists who have developed a passion for filmmaking. Cinewhoops are small, equipped with propeller protection and offer safe indoor flying. Their slow, steady flight style allows for relaxed, cinematic shots that are well-suited to beginners, while also being budget-friendly. The advantages and peculiarities of these mini drones show how technology can enrich our lives - whether in filming or, as in Rappin, in improving the quality of life through engagement and community spirit.
