On June 21, 2025, the signs are favorable for environmental protection: an impressive garbage collection campaign took place in Magdeburg on June 5 Environment Day instead of. A total of 11 teams were formed that collected waste for an hour in various cities in Saxony-Anhalt - including Magdeburg, Stendal and Sangerhausen. Amazingly, they were able to fill 42 garbage bags of 120 liters each, including not only conventional waste, but also bizarre large waste such as a nightstand, a dishwasher and even car tires. Sebastian Schultz, press spokesman for the main customs office, was impressed by the amount and variety of waste collected and underlined the importance of such actions. Nora Stiller, head of the main customs office, also thanked the participants and the environmental management team for their commitment.
