Stendal Rolandfest inspires 12,000 visitors - security guarantees!
The 54th Stendal Rolandfest, which took place from June 13th to 15th, 2025, has proven to be a true crowd puller. Over 12,000 visitors flocked to the city to enjoy the colorful stands, delicious dishes and the diverse entertainment program. Whether for the celebration in a convivial atmosphere or to browse the market stalls - the atmosphere was shaped by cheerfulness and community.
The security of the visitors was guaranteed by the police and the emergency services of the state riot police. Fortunately, this was largely peaceful. Only a few criminal complaints were admitted - including due to insult and assault. This shows that a positive and relaxed celebration is possible with the right security measures.

in a different context - but just as alarming - the police in Munich had an incident that questioned the security in public space in a different way. On May 1, 2024, a 35-year-old Finnish citizen was observed how he touched a 49-year-old German woman at the platform. Deutsche Bahn's security service was able to intervene in good time, but the incident once again illustrates how important security measures are even in places that are not intended for major events. This man had previously resisted and after his arrest a criminal complaint was made for sexual harassment, while the authorities determined for assault and insult.
It remains to be hoped that events such as the Rolandfest will be role models for further festivals, in which security, fun and community are in the foreground. This is the only way to maintain the constant cohesion in the cities and the joy of social events.
