Disposable income in Saxony-Anhalt 2023: Record growth achieved!

In 2023, the disposable income per inhabitant in Saxony-Anhalt has developed positively. It is now 25,094 euros, which corresponds to an increase of 1,274 euros or 5.3 percent compared to the previous year. This means that Saxony-Anhalt is approaching the German average of 28,452 euros, which has also increased, but by 1,604 euros or 6.0 percent Hallanzeiger.

If you look at the figures from 2021, you can see that the disposable income at that time was 21,741 euros, which was around 2,700 euros compared to the national average. At that time, the Saxony-Anhalt population could not see any leveling off in terms of income. But in 2023 there will be a positive turnaround, which will be accompanied by an increase in primary income of 25,310 euros.

Social benefits and their influence

A key factor in the increase in disposable income is the increase in monetary social benefits received, which in Saxony-Anhalt now amount to 10,418 euros per capita and are therefore well above the state average of 8,645 euros. Social benefits increased by 5.5% or 547 euros, while in Germany they rose by 5.2% (429 euros), as Dubisthalle reports.

Despite these positive developments, differences in income remain noticeable. Lower employee compensation and investment income continue to contribute to the discrepancies. But the lower net social contributions, income and wealth taxes in Saxony-Anhalt also counteract this and help to mitigate the income differences.

Joint efforts and statistics

The results are based on extensive cooperation between all state statistical offices in the “State National Accounts” working group. This working group ensures that the data is calculated in detail and reliably and is continually updated, which reflects the picture of the economic situation in Saxony-Anhalt quite accurately, explains Statistics Saxony.

All in all, it shows that Saxony-Anhalt is on a promising path to catching up. With a 5.5% increase in primary income and improved social support, the sense of prosperity among residents is expected to increase. This is certainly a reason to be optimistic about the coming years!
