New Wittenberg Christmas donation calendar: Tradition with heart!
It will be for sale from Friday, October 31, 2025: the new Wittenberg Christmas donation calendar. The presentation takes place in the Martas Hotel, where Manuela Schwede, the President of the Rotary Club, together with Annett Wolf and Marco Glaß from the “Projektschmiede Wittenberg” association are looking forward to the new release. The calendar shows an impressive city view of Wittenberg, captured by photographer Klaus Pohl.
Each copy of the calendar costs five euros and the edition is limited to 3,000 copies. But that's not all: all of the proceeds benefit various dedicated associations and projects that work in Wittenberg and the district. Over the years, Marco Glaß, who published the calendar for 14 years, has distributed considerable donations in the five-figure range. A remarkable success that is now in the hands of the Rotary Club, which took over the project in 2025 to continue the valuable commitment.
Charitable support in focus
President Manuela Schwede already has big plans for how to use the income: projects are planned that combine animal and species protection with educational work. A creative approach that shows the importance of education and awareness of environmental and animal protection.
The raffle of all prizes, which have a total value of 6,300 euros, will take place on November 27th under notary supervision. This ensures that the distribution – similar to that of good deeds – is transparent and fair. The calendars can be purchased at around 20 sales points in Wittenberg until November 26th.
A look behind the scenes
The Rotary Club of Lutherstadt Wittenberg, responsible for the website and the organization of the donation calendar, follows a clear line: supporting the community and promoting charitable projects. Your work is accompanied digitally, including the option to save and answer inquiries via a contact form. Data protection is a top priority here, and the website is designed according to GDPR guidelines. Another example of careful planning includes the use of cookies that improve the user experience.
But in order to keep the charitable work going, donations from private individuals and companies are also essential. Anyone interested is welcome to donate via the Rotary Germany website to support the diverse projects of the Rotary clubs in Germany.
The Rotary Club's commitment and the sale of the calendar are more than just a nice tradition. They promote community cohesion and actively contribute to improving the quality of life in Wittenberg. Anyone interested can find all the necessary information and points of sale on the website Rotary Club Wittenberg.
