Deer endanger traffic: Several accidents on November 3rd, 2025!
What is currently happening in the region? On November 2nd and 3rd, 2025, drivers in Saxony-Anhalt had to be careful because several incidents involving deer brought unexpected dangers on the roads. Especially in the early morning hours of November 3rd, things were not without incident [sachsen-anhalt.de](https://www.sachsen-anhalt.de/bs/pressemitigungen/polizei?tx_tsarssinclude_pi1%5Baction%5D=single &tx_tsarssinclude_pi1%5Bcontroller%5D=Base&tx_tsarssinclude_pi1%5Buid%5D=608999&cHash=0019ab9defe81dc9576736d9e5ec6a2b) reported.
On the morning of November 3rd, a 26-year-old woman was driving her Opel on the B 187 towards Listerfehrda when a deer suddenly ran onto the road about 200 meters before the town entrance. There was a collision that caused material damage to the vehicle; fortunately the driver was uninjured. A little later, at 7:00 a.m., a 32-year-old Ford driver from Prettin reported a similar incident - here too there was a collision with a deer that later had to be rescued. Here too, the damage remained on the driver's side, but it was tragic for the animal.
incidents from the previous day
There were two more accidents involving deer on November 2nd. A 34-year-old man who was driving on the Cape Road towards Möllensdorf around 6:10 a.m. also noticed a deer on the road. Despite emergency braking, the collision occurred. A 45-year-old Skoda driver also had an unfortunate end in the dark: He crashed into a deer on the B 107 about a kilometer before Hohenlubast, which died at the scene of the accident. In another incident on the same day, a 54-year-old Skoda driver tried to avoid a deer on the B 182, but a collision also occurred here.
Traffic controls and other damage
On November 3rd, it wasn't just the wildlife accidents that caused a stir. A 64-year-old van driver was maneuvering on Willy-Lohmann-Straße and hit a parked Audi, which also resulted in material damage to both vehicles. Speed checks were also carried out on Pöplitzer Weg: between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. some drivers exceeded the permitted speed of 50 km/h - the maximum speed was violated three times. The police then issued a warning and fines.
The events of the last few days highlight the dangers on the road that wild animals can pose. Drivers are asked to be particularly vigilant, especially at dusk and in rural areas. Keep your eyes open and be careful - animals can often cross the road unexpectedly.
