Nördlingen, Deutschland - On May 29, 2025, a special steam train ride to Nördlinger Ries will take place, which is organized by DBK Historisches Bahn e.V. Passengers await a trip to one of the best preserved medieval imperial cities in Germany, Nördlingen. The city is known for its imposing city wall, which extends over 2.6 kilometers and is supplemented by five towers and eleven goals. This historical excursion falls together with the railway festival, which is celebrated in the Bavarian Railway Museum (BEM) in Nördlingen.

The Bavarian Railway Museum was founded in the former railway depot in Nördlingen at the end of 1985 and pursues the goal of making a realistic railway operable. Over 100 original vehicles, including 25 steam locomotives, can be admired in the exhibitions. Finally, it was purchased in 2008. In addition to the Bavarian S 3/6 3673, it is now one of the figureheads of the BEM and was recognized on July 13, 2018 as one of the 100 "homelands".
