A lively friendship blossoms: The 35th anniversary of the partnership between the districts of Alzey-Worms and Bautzen was duly celebrated. A high-ranking delegation from Bautzen, led by District Administrator Udo Witschas and former District Administrator Michael Harig, visited the Alzey-Worms district to honor this impressive anniversary. The atmosphere was warm and there was great anticipation of future encounters, as District Administrator Heiko Sippel also emphasized.

The program of this special visit left no room for boredom. In addition to an exciting city tour of Alzey, the agenda included a visit to the newly designed Alzey Museum with its impressive stone hall and a visit to the construction site of the pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly. A trip to Fabian Kelly's magic vault in Ober-Flörsheim was also very well received.

Festivities and other plans

The festive highlight was the anniversary evening in the picturesque Bernhard-Räder winery in Flomborn. Here the connecting elements of the partnership were once again impressively showcased. The districts play a central role in this because they often have better human and financial resources. Like that diffuse highlights, local cultural departments need support in various areas, including the promotion of voluntary structures and the development of networks.

This strategic design of the cultural offering shows how important cooperation between districts and the associated cities is. This not only opens up scope for action, but also new opportunities for creative projects and initiatives that enrich the lifestyle of local people.
