Construction work in Radeberg: Ernst Braune settlement is being renovated!

In the Radeberger Ernst-Braune settlement, extensive construction work will be available from Monday, July 14th. These projects are necessary to renew the wastewater pipes over 100 years old and to bring the infrastructure of the settlement up to date. Laut Sächsische.de wird die Construction measures continue until the end of December 2023, and the total costs amount to around 970,000 euros. The city of Radeberg will bear around 800,000 euros.

The first construction phase was completed in 2022 with the renewal of the Gartenstraße. Now the Ernst-Braune-Straße, Am Steinhübel and on Heidwinkel are also being renovated. This not only includes the renewal of the wastewater assets, but also the road and sidewalk renovation. A particularly important part of the project is cooperation with Saxony-Energy and the water supply Bischofswerda, which renew gas, electricity and drinking water pipes.

Details on the construction work

The third construction phase will specifically include house numbers 1 to 11 and also affect the cobblestone area. As part of this renewal, both the lane with asphalt concrete and the sidewalks are redesigned on both sides with concrete plasters. Traffic safety is also improved by adjustments in the confluence area Stolpener Straße/Röderstraße, including the enlargement of the lane shift and inserting tree planting islands. A accessibility is explicitly taken into account in the planning, and there are more crossing points with blind leader elements & on-board reductions, reports Wochurier.de . .

The construction work is carried out under full closure, whereby Steinstrasse and garden road are not affected and serve as diversion routes. The construction work is expected to be completed in mid-September and will be carried out in two sections, with the first construction phase to set a dead end for the long leg and waterway.

traffic and parking regulations

During the construction phase, various traffic regulations are used. The one -way regulation on Pirnaer Straße is canceled and a bilateral stopping from house number 16 to the market is set up. Bus traffic is also adapted and residents can find out about the changes at the stops.

The residential construction car park remains fully usable during the entire construction work, and the surrounding roads should also offer parking facilities, but no separate parking spaces are created.

Overall, it is a challenging but necessary project that benefits the city of Radeberg and places the foundations for a modern infrastructure. The building authority and the city administration ask for understanding for the upcoming restrictions and ensure that everything necessary is undertaken in order to complete the work as quickly as possible.
