At exactly 7:45 a.m., a 55-year-old truck driver was on the S177 towards Rossendorf when the drama began. An unknown driver of a white, Polish truck with a tarpaulin top drove into the oncoming lane and pushed the lively driver to the side of the road. In order to avoid a violent head-on collision, he had to swerve, which had fatal consequences.
The evading 55-year-old lost control of his vehicle and landed in the ditch. Following the mishap, the trailer hit a tree, causing it to tip over and causing extensive damage to the entire suspension. The result of this tragic incident was the destruction of the truck and property damage amounting to around 302,000 euros. Fortunately, the driver was uninjured, but the person who caused the accident, who fled in his white truck, remained a phantom.
Police are looking for witnesses
The police immediately launched an investigation into the hit-and-run and are looking for possible witnesses who can provide information about the fleeing vehicle or its driver.
