A lot has happened in the idyllic Pulsnitz Walkmühlenbad. On August 16, 2025, new opportunities for spending free time opened up. A brand new five-a-side football pitch was inaugurated, which was clearly demarcated from the other open spaces. The goals on this pitch come, appropriately enough, from the “Kunterbunt” daycare center. This not only offers the little footballers a great opportunity to let off steam, but also increases the quality of their stay in the bathroom, as wochenkurier.info reports.
In addition, a modern combination display board was installed in the first week of August, displaying important information such as air and water temperature as well as the date and time. The stopwatch function with horn signal ensures that you don't forget the time while playing. The water temperature display is currently paused as the lightning strike protection system still needs to be ensured.
Start of the season and challenges
“The start of the season was promising,” said swimming master Steffen Pfeiffer, “but the many rainy days put a damper on our plans.” Last Tuesday, 300 bathers were welcomed to the Walkmühlenbad. Pfeiffer expects that if the weather stays the same in midsummer, the number of visitors will immediately increase again.
The spacious lying areas and the long shallow water area make the pool particularly attractive for families who can enjoy the summer here. When it's busy, the Walkmühlenbad can accommodate up to 1,000 bathers. But even in normal operation, mowing the lawn and lying areas takes around four days. This shows how much work and care goes into this unique place.

The Pulsnitz outdoor pool not only offers visitors space to swim, but also to play and relax.
