Saxony rocks the summer: open-air stages delight with top pieces!
The open-air theaters in Saxony are at their best this summer and invite you to a colorful program in the open air. As the Free press reports, visitors can look forward to performances of classics and best-selling adaptations, including works such as “Krabat,” “Räuber Hotzenplotz,” Monty Python and the works of Oscar Wilde.
Bautzen is certainly a highlight: “Alice in Wonderland” is performed here as a musical in the picturesque courtyard of the Ortenburg. But other cities in Saxony also show that open-air theater is extremely popular. The bestseller “The Medicus” will be shown in Plauen and Zwickau and the Rathen Nature Stage will present a varied program with pieces such as “Little Red Riding Hood” and “The Trace of the Midwife”.
A true summer festival
The organizers of the Day24 have recognized the fascination of open-air theater, with numerous stages that are used until September. The Greifenstein Festival in the Erzgebirge offers a varied program until September 1st with new productions such as “Monty Python’s Spamalot” as well as revivals such as “Dragons Have Nothing to Laugh” and “The Little Witch”.
But that's not all: On Sunday, the Olsen Gang's last performance in Bautzen will make the audience's hearts beat faster. Open-air stages like the one in Bad Lausick also offer free concerts and a variety of fairy-tale musicals that attract families.
The most beautiful stages at a glance
Saxony's open-air theaters are not only places of entertainment, but also true natural jewels. The Saxon highlights some of the most beautiful stages not to be missed:
The variety of programs and backdrops make Xeinattire and the numerous attractions combined with the lively outdoor atmosphere a unique experience. Whether you're a lover of classics or a family with children, everyone will find their place under Saxony's bright blue sky. An absolute must for this summer!
