In Hoyerswerda, more precisely in the Knappenrode district, an event is coming up that will make the hearts of all music lovers beat faster. The Stroga Festival will take place there from July 18th to 20th, 2025, a meeting point for the electronic music scene, which will be held in this charming location for the third time after a five-year break. Originally launched in 2005 as a small party format in the village of Stroga, the festival has now transformed into a popular event with the community at the center. The organizers report that they can expect more than 80 acts on the weekend this year, which could keep the number of visitors similar to last year, when around 1,500 guests attended the festival on Saturday evening.

The preparation for this big event is a true collaborative effort: Over 120 volunteers have been busy preparing everything for the visitors for days. The construction in particular, which takes two weeks, shows the immense manual work and commitment of the helpers, who make the festival a unique experience. Despite the challenges posed by the current situation, organizers are optimistic and expect advance sales to improve, especially if the weather is good, as other festivals of similar size have already been canceled, which could give them a small advantage.

Cultural diversity and family atmosphere

The Stroga Festival stands out not only for its family atmosphere, but also for its varied musical program. The range of music on offer includes genres such as techno, drum’n’bass and minimal. The organizers were also able to attract exciting artists such as Youphoria and Ameli Paul, who will enrich the line-up. In addition, a variety of additional activities are offered to visitors, including yoga and upcycling initiatives, which encourage the creative side of the festival.
