BUND promotes cultural projects in Saxony with 3 million euros!

In an impressive initiative to promote culture in rural areas, the federal government has decided to financially support two important projects in Saxony. This decision comes at a time when cultural offers in rural regions are more important than ever. According to sueddeutsche.de the federal government is available 1.5 million euros each to promote language and cultural funding in these areas.

The two funded projects are the "Future-Kultur-Region Göltzschtal" in the Vogtlandkreis and the project "Let's Talk!" of the Zweckverband Kulturraum Oberlausitz-Lower Silesia. The former focuses primarily on youth culture and is aimed at families, locals and newcomers. The latter aims to promote cohesion and citizen participation through cultural and artistic projects. Empty buildings are to be revitalized as meeting points, which would be an additional plus for the local community.

Minister of Culture Wolfram Weimer emphasizes the relevance of a diverse cultural offerings, even in remote areas. The program for promoting the cultural landscape in Saxony is an investment in the future and will be supported with a total of 45 million euros from 2025 to 2030. The Federal Center for Political Education also participates in the financing, while the federal states contribute a co -financing of ten percent.

To support this diverse cultural landscape, the Ministry of Culture of the Free State of Saxony is also committed. It promotes different institutions and foundations, such as the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony or the foundation for the Sorbian people. In recent years, numerous projects in the areas of performing art, music, visual arts and more have benefited from this support.

Funding in Saxony, however, goes beyond financial resources. Church institutions and religious communities play a crucial role in the care and preservation of culture. Civic engagement and volunteering are important pillars of cultural care in Saxony. A colorful mix of voluntary musical activities and private cultural sponsorship enriches the cultural life on site.

A total of 97 initiatives had applied nationwide, with 30 selected to benefit from this funding. It is therefore obvious that in Saxony with these projects not only a contribution to cultural diversity is made, but also a strong signal for the cohesion of the community is sent. The next few years promise to become an exciting and artistically dynamic time due to these initiatives.
