A72 becomes the construction site: renovation from August 2025 and major traffic changes!
Chemnitz, Deutschland - The A72 motorway will be extensively renovated from August 2025 between the Chemnitz-Süd junction and the Chemnitz motorway junction in the direction of Leipzig. The reason for this measure is considerable damage to the existing road surface, which consists of an open -pore asphalt. The renovation work extends to a length of three kilometers and should continue until December 2025, as the Leipzig internet line reported.
In order to increase traffic safety and improve the quality of life of the residents, several measures are on the plan. This includes the exchange of the road surface through a noise -reducing, open -pore asphalt, the renewal of the sealing layer, partial renewal of the drainage systems and the renewal of markings. The use of the modern asphalt could also help reduce the pollution and to reduce the noise for residents-a goal that also from various research projects at the Technical University of Berlin is sought.
traffic restrictions and diversions
However, the renovation also brings some traffic restrictions. From July 14, 2025, the Chemnitz-Süd driveway will be completely blocked by the B173 on the A72 in the direction of Leipzig until November 27, 2025. Road users have to expect lane reductions and drafts of roads. In addition, the Chemnitz-Rottluff junction in the direction of Leipzig is closed between 16 and 29 September, 2025, whereby diversions are also intended here. Depirtions for the detour routes have already been set up to keep traffic as smoothly as possible.
The traffic routing in the future provides for a two -lined driveway in both directions. Later, three lanes are then available to the vehicles in the direction of Leipzig, while two lanes are available in the direction of travel. Two truck lanes per direction are also preserved. The entire measure is estimated with a cost of around 6 million euros gross.
modern materials for the construction work
The required material is provided by the cvb sachsen . The company has modern preparation systems with mixed work laboratories for quality assurance, which ensures that all materials meet the current technical standards. Their mixing plant in Breitenau in particular is considered the most modern work since 2006 and is well designed for the high requirements.
The requirements for modern building materials have increased. An innovative approach to improving roads includes the narrowing of urban air quality with so -called photocatalytic asphalt. This new asphaltoverlag is designed to reduce pollutants from the air and reduce noise. At regular intervals, a mobile quality measuring system ensures that the processing parameters are always kept in mind.
The flow of traffic and safety during the construction work are always in the foreground. The responsible instances ask all road users for understanding and determined adaptation of the driving style during the renovation work.
