An exciting week lies ahead in Chemnitz! From August 18th to 24th there are numerous events that will delight both locals and visitors. Mayor Sven Schulze opens the summer festival of the European Metropolitan Region of Central Germany on Monday at 5 p.m. V. in Villa Esche, Parkstraße 58. But that's not all the city has to offer this week.
On Tuesday, Mayor Knut Kunze will take part in the “Moving Network 2.0 – Hydrogen by Bicycle” project from 4:10 p.m., which will take place at Otto-Schmerbach-Straße 19. The local councils of Einsiedel and Euba meet at the same time. While there will be discussions in the Einsiedel town hall from 6.30 p.m., the Euba residents will meet from 7.30 p.m. in the Euba meeting room, Hauptstrasse 50 c.
Diverse events and inclusion
Wednesday also has exciting program items in store. Mayor Sven Schulze will take part in the fifth Chemnitz inclusion run “United Running” on the Küchwaldwiese, Küchwaldring at 4 p.m. At the same time, children and youth representative Dina Norberger invites you to the parent information event “Danger from the Internet – what parents should know about cyberbullying”. This will take place at 5 p.m. in the Stadt-Schau-fenster, Technical Town Hall, Friedensplatz 1. The Wittgensdorf local council also meets at 7 p.m. in the volunteer fire department's fire department building, Rathausplatz 1 b.
Things will be exciting for education in Chemnitz on Thursday: Mayor Ralph Burghart will hold the groundbreaking ceremony for the new expansion of the Chemnitz Cooperation School at Brauhausstrasse 16 at 10 a.m. Equestrian athletes from Ljubljana, Tunbridge Wells and Wiesbaden will also receive a reception on the occasion of the 35th city tournament in dressage and show jumping, which will take place at 10 a.m. in the Green Salon of the town hall, Markt 1. Representatives of Chemnitz social and community associations will also meet in the Luxor Congress and Event Center at 5 p.m.
Weekend highlights
The weekend is all about culture and art. The first Chemnitz roof festival will take place on Saturday, August 23rd. The official opening is at 12 p.m. on the roof terrace of the student residence at Brühl 65, after which visitors can experience various performances on various roofs in the city from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mayor Michael Stötzer will open the intervention area at the railway viaduct at 11 a.m. and then the “Club-E” intervention area in Einsiedel at 1 p.m. The public can also be invited here from 2 p.m. to celebrate and explore the new offerings.
