In Chemnitz, art and cultural fans have to dress warmly! From July 18 to August 17, 2025, the exciting art festival "inspections" will take place in the former Chemnitz North II heating power plant. Today, on July 4, 2025, the Free Press announced that a raffle for an exclusive preview lead was launched on July 16, 2025 at 5 p.m. In order to take part in the raffle, registration for the City City Newsletter "Tieflet." from the Free Press, where further information about the festival is provided. But we don't forget the exciting program that has the "inspections" ready! In addition to the exhibition, there will also be a colorful festival program with concerts, readings, lectures and performances, all of which are inspired by the works of the exhibition and the special conditions of the place. On July 19, the festival will open with the two bands Bikini Beach and cooking force by KMA in the garage rock and indie-rave-punk style. On July 20, Mina Richman will be on stage with her soul, folk and hip-hop sounds.

enjoy exciting performances! On August 2, the Duo Drone Operator & Joss Turnbull will step on stage with a unique soundtrack. On August 8th, Yaneq brings his rhymes and thoughts into the atmosphere. The crowning glory of the festival on August 17th are the fictional band Superbusen and The Odd Time Bend, which will present new film music from the All-Star Ensemble.

The festival also has culinary and social ingredients: on July 27th you can chat with the record picnic and enjoy vinyl, while on August 8, there is a talk about "interaction, neighborhood and energy". The spectrum even extends so far that visitors can sing together at the choir karaoke on July 20-you know how the neighbors are on it!

The connecting element: art and society

Another exciting program item is the play "The Nature is right" by Elisabeth Weydt on July 27, followed by the climate monologues on August 15. This documentary theater performance by Michael Ruf is carried out in cooperation with the Heinrich Böll Foundation Sachsen e.V. Uwe Ritzer will also set a socially critical accent on August 16 with "The sale: water, floor, raw materials".

and best: If you want to get an impression of the aesthetics of art in the room, you can look forward to an impressive video work by June 14th, at which edited photographs of open garages are shown, which were sent in by Chemnitzer: inside. This digital gallery is brought to life by the artist Klaus Pobitzer and includes fictional visual worlds with historical figures and everyday objects that beat the bridge between reality and fiction.
