Identitarian movement Chemnitz: New properties and old faces!
In recent years, the identity movement, which is known for its radical views, has become increasingly active in Chemnitz. Since April 2024 there have been reports of an unknown person who regularly takes part in extreme right demonstrations and appears in videos for movement. The participant: comes from Chemnitz and seems to have a past at the European high school in Hartmannsdorf until around 2018. The activities include events such as the cross-thinking demonstration in Dresden in March 2021 and the grief event in the Saxon capital in February 2025, which recently took place. She has acquired a property in Edisonstrasse that now serves as a new center. These premises were bought by an entrepreneurial company, founded by the leading members Vincenzo R. and Philip T., over a year ago. The State Office for the Protection of the Constitution was informed about the purchase in January 2023, but only recognized the terrifying purpose of use in October. This is not the first property that was taken over by the Identitarian Movement in Chemnitz. In fact, this fourth property is owned by right -wing extremists, which underlines the worrying development of extreme views in the region. The identity movement is supported by the real estate company Schanze one that has already been active in other cities such as Rostock and Halle. Especially after the strong resistance in Halle, the movement was forced to withdraw, which does not seem to be the case in this country.
The surroundings of the new property is also interesting. An AfD city council lives nearby, which increases the concern about the interweaving of extremely right positions in the political landscape of Chemnitz.
