Stadthalle und Stadthallen Park, Chemnitz, Deutschland - The Children's University Chemnitz is preparing for an exciting event as part of the hands-on and inventor fair "Makers United", which will take place from June 19 to 22, 2025 in the Chemnitz Stadthallenpark. On June 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., the children's university invites you to an interactive lecture, which is moderated by Simón Albers, known from the knowledge show "Woozle Gozle" at Super RTL. The aim of this lecture is to bring simple psychological effects closer to young participants. An example of this is the confetti illusion that shows how colored networks can increase their freshness and attractiveness around fruit and vegetables.
All those who want to tinker and research creative are invited to visit the lecture and the entire hands-on and inventor fair free of charge. "Makers United" is a festival for young and old that focuses on the topics of technology, craft, art and science (Steam). Over 120 hands-on offers are presented and actors of the maker scene from about 20 countries will present their projects and invite you to participate.
diverse activities for all age groups
The fair offers a variety of activities. In addition to the children's university, there are practical hands-on stalls and exciting entertainment. The first two days, June 18 and 19, 2025, are reserved for school classes who have to register as part of the student days. On the weekend, June 21st and 22nd, the event will then be opened to the general public, whereby admission is free.
Since June 1, 2025, over 30 makers from Europe have gathered in Saxony to prepare for the fair. An additional maker pop-up in the Roter Tower gallery will offer actions to participate every day from June 2 to June 18. The “Makers United” are therefore not only fun for children, but also for the entire family who can discover, experiment and tinker together.

The Children's University Chemnitz offers a valuable platform to enable children aged eight to twelve years to enter the world of science and research. This lecture series is designed to convey knowledge in a playful way and to promote the interest of young people in scientific issues, which is underlined again by the extraordinary event as part of the "Makers United".
