Capital of Culture Chemnitz: Celebrate the Year of Diversity!

A very special year is currently underway in Chemnitz: the Capital of Culture year ends on November 29, 2025 under the motto “C the Unseen”. Over 1,000 events were organized to promote an open and diverse culture and to shine a spotlight on lesser-noticed perspectives from the region. Loud MDR Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk will conduct a survey to look back on this cultural event. Participation in this survey is possible until Monday, November 10th at 10:00 a.m. The results will be published in the MDR programs from November 24th.

There is great interest: Over 66,000 members are registered with MDRfragt, and anyone who wants to take part must be at least 16 years old and live in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt or Thuringia. This gives people the opportunity to share their experiences and opinions and to actively participate in the cultural discussion.

Diversity in culture

A quote from the city shows how much the focus is on diversity and openness: “We want to make the many facets of our society visible.” And this is exactly what the Capital of Culture year has created a platform for. Clubs, artists and cultural workers from the region pulled together to create an unforgettable year.

But Chemnitz is not the only city that stands out with special projects. Recently it was MIXHUB agency brought into being. Combining fashion, marketing and content creation, this agency works with creatives to achieve digital presence and real-world results. A strong team of diverse professionals, including Anajú Dorigon and Julia Menezes, shows that the focus on diversity is also in other creative industries.

A look outside the box

The need to obtain information quickly and efficiently is also evident in the healthcare sector. In Colombia, access to health services is a fundamental right. The System General de Seguridad en Salud (SGSSS) ensures that every citizen has access to necessary health services. It is important for people to know their status with the Health Care Providers (EPS), which can be easily checked online through the official site. Digitalization also makes many processes simpler and more accessible.

Whether in Chemnitz with the Capital of Culture year or in Colombia with the health sector - there are exciting developments that promote dialogue and the visibility of different perspectives. The current surveys and initiatives send an important signal: cultural and social participation are the cornerstones of a vibrant society.
