Location confirmed for iBug: Former hospital in Chemnitz!

The anticipation for the iBug Festival, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, is growing in Chemnitz. From August 22nd to 24th, August 29th to 31st and September 5th to 7th, the former hospital at Scheffelstrasse 10 will be transformed into a pulsating place for urban art. How View reports, the venue was announced via the Instagram channel Ibug.art. Organized by a dedicated team of volunteers, the festival attracts tens of thousands of art lovers every year.

The iBug, which stands for “industrial brownfield redevelopment”, is more than just a festival: since 2006, it has been transforming empty industrial wastelands into inspiring art spaces. The event has become one of the most important urban art festivals in Europe, according to the website Chemnitz2025. Numerous art forms such as graffiti, painting, multimedia installations and workshops are offered there. Visitors can look forward to a varied supporting program, including tours and discussion groups that provide deeper insights into the history and future of the locations used.

A celebration for creative minds

The anniversary edition is designed by international artists who transform the old factory into a living gallery. Loud IKU Saxony Art not only combines creativity, but also the history of the wasteland with the works of art.
