Fast-paced machine, hot conversations: 19th Jawa/CZ meeting in Chemnitz!
On Sunday, June 15, 2025, the 19th Jawa/ČZ meeting will take place in the Chemnitz Vehicle Museum. This event is organized by the Jawa-Freunden-Chemnitz and primarily attracts fans of the Czech motorcycle brands Jawa and ČZ. Visitors can expect a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of opportunities for exchange among like-minded people and in-depth “petrol conversations”.
As part of the meeting, participants can admire interesting motorcycles from bygone times. The meeting starts at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m. The entrance fee is a moderate 8 euros, which is a real bargain for such a meeting. Visitors can look forward not only to exciting machines, but also to the stories and experiences of other motorcycle lovers.
A look back at Jawa
The history of the Jawa brand is fascinating. It was founded in Prague in 1922 by František Janeček and initially started producing weapons before moving into motorcycle production in 1929. In 1927, Janeček acquired the license to manufacture a motorcycle from Wanderer-Werke AG in Chemnitz. The name “Jawa” is made up of the names “Janeček” and “Wanderer”. Jawa soon became one of the leading motorcycle manufacturers in the Eastern Bloc and exported to over 120 countries. Even today, the brand has regained momentum after acquiring the manufacturing rights from Mahindra in India in 2017.
Although the Czech motorcycle industry has lost some of its international luster, before the war it was a serious competitor to major powers such as Germany. Other well-known brands such as Blata, CZ, ESO and Böhmerland also come from the Czech Republic, but Jawa is still the best known and has a special place in the hearts of many motorcycle enthusiasts with its classic models.
Keeping a tradition alive
Overall, the 19th Jawa/ČZ meeting offers a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas about the long tradition of Czech motorcycle culture and to rediscover history. Whether you are an experienced biker or just want to admire the machines - everyone is welcome to become part of this special experience.
If you are interested, you can see a review of the past meeting on the vehicle museum's website. Anyone interested in Czech motorcycle history can also find a lot of exciting information there. Further details about the event are available directly on the organizers' websites.
Be there when the engines roar and the stories of the Jawa and ČZ motorcycle tradition come to life on Sunday, June 15th. An experience not to be missed!
